The psalmist, music director and producer is the convener of the annual Ascension worship gathering. Bellas 2019 single Rend the Heavens was released to rave reviews, with follow up singles In Your Fullness and This is Revival propelling him further to the fore as one of the UK's best loved worship leaders.
With a heart to lead people into the mind and heart of the father, Bella has carved a niche for himself as a prophetic worshipper, and his sensitivity to the Holy Spirit during times of worship is unparrallelled.
Taking to Instagram to share about his upcoming live recording, Bella posted: I cant wait to share these songs with the world and I believe God will do some great things through this project. I cant wait for heaven to touch the earth.
Guest features for the recording include The Voice UK's Emmanuel Smith, worship leader Jacy Mai, singer songwriter Naje Busia and vocal coach/singer - Faith Ajani.
Akosua DF: You hold an annual event called Ascension. Tell us a bit about it and how it was birthed?
Samuel Bella: Ascension is a gathering focused on 3 things; worship, encountering God and transformation. It was birthed in prayer. God laid it on my heart that He wanted people to ascend. (Psalm 24:3-4 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?) It was a call for people to ascend and encounter Him. Throughout scripture men had to leave the familiar to ascend to new heights in God.
Akosua DF: This year marks your 6th Ascension gathering & its a special one because youll also be recording your debut live project? What can fans expect from the recording & the new project?
Samuel Bella: Mannnnnnn Great songs, great music but also the presence of God wrapped in it. I love musical arrangements, great song writing and all that good stuff but most importantly it has to be backed by the presence of God. People can expect a presence filled album. Thats what can be promised by the grace of God. Something that will draw you to pray, draw you into greater intimacy. My goal is to inspire people to love God more and give themselves to Him on a daily basis.
Akosua DF: Ok final fun question - If you could have lunch with any Bible character who would it be & why?
Samuel Bella: Um I think it would be David. Why? Because David was both a prophet and a musician and I believe that aligns with my calling. I would love to pick his mind, He was prophesying about Jesus before He came. He was so in tune with music I would just love to sit with him.
