Line-up changes, management reshuffling and record label issues plagued the group, leading to a recording hiatus. Almost a decade on, the singer/actress has come full circle having been selected by Tina Turner to star as Tina in the Tina Turner Musical at the Aldwych Theatre in London. Losing out on the role for the Broadway version of the musical didnt crush Chanels dream of playing her icon but rather, spurred her on to audition for the West End musical.
Speaking to music executive Vicki Mack Lataillade about her experience, Chanel said: ...I started looking into a work visa. I started looking for apartmentsor flats. I bought a ticket got an agent and told him that he could pitch me for whatever he wanted but that I was coming to the UK because I wanted to play and will play Tina Turner. The Tina Turner Musical returns to the Aldwych Theatre on 28 July.
