Gospel music has always played a monumental part in the music industry as we know it today, with many popular artists either believing in God, learning to develop their gift in church or being influenced by music they've heard growing up. Despite this part gospel music has played, it can sometimes be forgotten when it comes to the music industry or cast aside as though it were small. Rapper Guvna B took to the stage at the Merky Christmas gospel concert and spoke on this, saying: "I felt like a lot of people view gospel as this other niche that only older Christians enjoy but after Blinded By Your Grace come out it just opened a whole lot of doors." In a post show interview with Premier Gospel, Stormzy spoke on this too and encouraged gospel artists to reject the notion that gospel music is small: "I encourage them to reject that motion that gospel is a side genre...reject that in everything they do, reject that in their decisions, reject that in how they walk, reject that in how they talk, just make their whole energy that gospel is massive because the God they serve is massive."
