The four individuals vying for the coveted spot on the big stage at the Apollo this December are Mariam Davina, Jason Nicholson-Porter, Ryan Hylton and Rhea Marcia.
The talent search was amazing. Loads of great talent came through and no doubt in there will be the next Lurine Cato or the next CalledOut Music or the next Noel Robinson, said Premier Gospel station director, Muyiwa Olarewaju OBE.
The calibre of finalists is indicative of the quality of material that was submitted for the competition. Ryan Hylton is a UK gospel newbie; Rhea Marcia had a stint on BBC Introducing, and both Mariam Davina and Jason Nicholson- Porter are alumni of The Voice UK.
Sharing his excitement with Premier Gospel, Ryan Hylton said: When I found out I was nominated for the PG talent search I was thrilled. My music journey started last year, and I never really thought God would have grown me so much within a year. Stepping out in faith I have gained confidence and naturally God has been pouring out opportunities right before me. PG talent search for me isnt about stardom or singing in front of crowds. Its an opportunity to share the message of the gospel. And every platform given is to exalt his name. 2 Timothy 2:21.
The winner will be announced next Friday, and the individual will perform alongside US artists Koryn Hawthorne, LeAndria Johnson and Mali Music at the highly anticipated Live Gospel at the Apollo concert on Sunday December 19.
