Blessing Chitapa otherwise known as Annatoria, is no stranger to gospel music. Having grown up as a PK, singing regularly in church was the norm and served as the training ground for the big stage. Blessing won the admiration of judge Olly Murs during the blind auditions with her rendition of Etta James Id rather go blind. He turned for her just as she sang her last note thereby giving her the opportunity to progress further in the competition. Blessing posted about Murs on Instagram saying . couldnt ask for a better coachonly one who believed in my shaky little voice .
Blessings take on Mariah Careys Without you during the shows semi-finals cemented her position as a strong contender for the crown. The crowd erupted in loud applause as she adlibbed in her upper register showcasing her incredible vocal range, very reminiscent of Carey.
Besides her powerful voice, probably what stands out most for Blessing is her strong stage presence. Her ability to command the attention of audiences is very impressive for someone so young.
Over the years, several gospel singers including Zion, Emmanuel Smith, Michelle John and Jason Nicholson-Porter have graced the Voice UK stage, but Blessing is the first to bring home the crown and hopefully she wont be the last.
Blessing recently featured on The Black history project which aired on TBN UK back in October. If you thought the lead singer on Something inside so strong looked and sounded familiar you were right. We are certain that this is just the beginning of greater things for Blessing and look forward to seeing more of her in the very near future.

If you attended Big Church Day Out 2019, you would remember that famous mic-toss by Tye Tribbett. An unknown young girl grabbed the microphone and sang her heart and soul out like her life depended on it. Fast forward to November 2020 and that same young girl has been catapulted into the limelight and crowned the winner of The Voice UK 2020.
