"Nigerian woman are the KEY!" says Pastor Toure Roberts

Pastor Touré Roberts, a charismatic spiritual leader, author, and the founder of one of the most influential faith communities in Los Angeles - The Potter's House at One LA. Known for his transformative sermons and innovative approach to spreading God’s message, Pastor Roberts has made a tremendous impact on modern Christianity.

Born in Oakland, California, Roberts' journey from a challenging childhood to the helm of a thriving church is an inspirational testament to his faith and resilience. His dynamic preaching style connects with a diverse audience, transcending cultural and generational boundaries.

One House Music, founded by Roberts, recently released an EP called 'Eyes Up'. It speaks to those of us who feel like life has got us down and how to keep our eyes on God and set our hopes in him. In an interview with Muyiwa, Roberts spoke about what’s unique about the project, saying: "it's very difficult to put this music in a box. And when you don't put something in a box, people have to experience it simply for what it is. I like that because there is this type of music can get into doors that CCM cannot, as wonderful as CCM is. This music can get into doors that gospel music can't get into as wonderful as gospel music is…the more we can take the limits off and allow them to experience music, great music that is hard to define, the greater our opportunity is to reach people.”

The pastor also spoke about his trip to Nigeria and shared what he deemed to be a controversial message for the women of the country: “The Lord gave me a word while I was there, and the word that God gave me when I was there, and this may be controversial, but oftentimes his word is, is that when the women in Nigeria get loosed, it is game over. And I mean that in the most powerful way.”

People online were in support of his message, with a snippet of the word being viewed over 60,000 times. One Instagram user commented “We don’t find it controversial at all!! Speaking as a Nigerian woman myself, I have believed this for a long time. Can’t wait to see the day this manifests!”.
