Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a familiar and celebrated figure grown up as a Commonwealth immigrant from Jamaica. There was a magic about having a Royal Family that was out of reach and yet there was a reverse ownership. My father was born in the same year as Her Majesty and my mother was an arch Royalist with pictures of The Queen and Prince Philip taking pride of place alongside Jesus is the Unseen head of this house and Jesus at Supper with the 12 Disciples.
In addition to that, growing up in a very conservative church also meant praying for our leaders whatever their persuasion or political colour. We would pray regularly as a congregation for The Queen. In the month of August along with our neighbours, our cities and towns and streets we followed the Premier initiative to put our leader to payer.
I have for a while been saying on my Gospel Through The Night programme that I have been concerned about Her majestys health as to me there was a marked turn for the worst following her bout with Covid. She just didnt seem herself and looked rather frail, but as with our Biblical leaders their stoic practices led her to perform her duties as she has done since the day of her Coronation.
As my mother has now gone to rest, I shall also miss Her Majesty carrying out her duties impeccably. The pictures have now all gone so this is the end of this Chapter. I wish King Charles Gods blessings over his life and to give him wisdom over the duties which he will not have to undertake.
We here at Premier Gospel wish to add our voices to the many good and great - on mourning the loss of such a wonderful example of a human life committed to serving others in humility over the many decades of her reign. We continue to lift up in prayer the Royal Family as they navigate their way through this tragic loss, of not just a Queen but a Mother.

Our world has changed and what we have known in our lifetime as a stable, solid institution with the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II has impacted all of us. What is clear is that the Christian principles that emanated from her life continue to leave a legacy even in her death through the testimonials that we are hearing from around the world.
