5 Albums, 4 Stellar Award wins,1 Dove Award win and 4 Grammy nods later, Carrs music career is still going from strength to strength .
To mark her 24th birthday, Carr treated fans to a virtual concert, powerfully delivering her best loved hits with the oil and passion thats synonymous with her name.
Subtly plugging his billboard chart topping song Big, Pastor Mike Jr opened the night lavishing praise upon Carr. I am excited about all the things that God is doing with Jekalyn Carr. From her music career to television opportunities to business to dating... Im excited about the woman she is becoming ...I believe - no pun intended, thats its gonna be BIG, he said.
Kicking off the night with Connected to you, from her 2020 project; Changing my story, Carr took to the stage in an elegant red jumpsuit with a laced up front and 3 tier detail on the left leg. Supported by a 4 piece band and 3 female background vocalists, Carrs 60 minute set included her Billboard gospel hits; Joy, You will win, Bigger, a stripped back version of Greater is coming and Its Yours.
Known also for her preaching gift , the pint sized singer let loose on the Grammy nominated You will win. God began to remind me of the children of Israel when they were standing at the Red Sea.God had to tell me, He said Jekalyn even a sea could not stop my plans. .. I dont know what your Red Sea may represent, but I want you to know tonight that if Gods got to part it, His word is going to be established... Hes gonna get it done, she declared .
A birthday celebration isnt quite complete without birthday wishes from friends and loved ones. Interspersed between performances were video messages from US radio industry executives and gospel artists Fred Hammond, Kierra Sheard, Bri Babineaux amongst others.
Closing out the night with the foot-stomping Its Yours, Carr showed off her fancy footwork and vocal prowess. Jekalyn Carrs maiden virtual concert was a remarkable success by all measures, and definitely worth much more than the $15 we paid.

Akin to the Cosby Shows Rudy Huxtable, gospel singer Jekalyn Carr has grown up right before our very eyes. Fondly referred to as Baby Shirley No 2 by Gospel Legend Shirley Caesar, the singing sensation first caught our attention when aged 15, her single Greater Is Coming debuted at No 3 in the Billboard Gospel top 10 chart.
