The gospel legend was reported missing earlier this week in Cobb County, Georgia after being released from hospital.
Kelly has been recovering from Covid-19, she confirmed the status of her health in July via Instagram.
On Friday (September 24), Kellys attorney Monica Ewing confirmed that Kelly was not missing and added that the singer was safe.
"Shes safe," Monica told NBC News.
"She was released from the hospital with Covid and she went to a quiet place and shes trying to recover."
The lawyer added that Kelly needed time to rest and recover back to health.
Monica said: "She's got to rest and start the journey back to health.
Cobb County Police in Georgia confirmed that Kelly had been the subject of a missing persons report. However, they said that they would not be releasing details including who filed the original missing person report.
Kelly also reposted a story from Sara Mornell on Instagram on Saturday (September 25). Sara mentioned that she had spoken with Kelly and said that she was recovering and sounds strong.
When Kelly first shared her Covid-19 diagnosis via social media, she posted a video along with a caption, it detailed how Kelly was feeling and included the hashtag #GodIsAHealer.
The post reads: I found out today I have COVID. I Am COVID Positive. Im following Drs orders. Im quarantined. Feeling really drained. Splitting headache but Im not in the hospital. Im grateful and expecting to have a quick recovery. #GodIsAHealer.
Jonathan McReynolds, James Fortune and Priscilla Shirer all commented leaving messages of support for Kelly as well as other gospel artists and preachers.
