One of gospel musics biggest nights took place this weekend, when the cream of the industry gathered at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 34th Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
The nights biggest winner was Jonathan McReynolds, who picked up six gongs in total including wins for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for Not Lucky.
The Chicago-based artist also went home as Producer of the Year, and winner of both Best Contemporary CD and Best Contemporary Male Vocalist.
Other winners included Jekalyn Carr (Female Vocalist of the Year), Walls Group (Duo/Chorus Group of the Year), and Jabari Johnson (Best New Artist).
Gospel Flava founder James D. Robinson Jr., President & Executive Director of the Gospel Music Association Jackie Patillo, and RCA Inspiration General Manager Phil Thornton were inducted into the Stellar Honors Hall of Fame, whilst The Caravans Delores Washington Green was honoured with the Legend Award.
The night also included a tribute to soul queen Aretha Franklin, who died in August 2018 at the age of 76.
For the first time, the Stellars awarded a tribute in Franklins honour the Aretha Franklin ICON Award.
Franklins family were also in attendance.
