After news has broke that Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, has had a spiritual transformation and is moving forward in to living a life for Christ we took a look at other music artists who have done the same, experiencing a spiritual transformation and embracing Christianity during their careers. Here are five notable examples: Tyrone Thompson, better known as Papa San, is a Jamaican reggae, dancehalland gospel singer. His brother and fellow deejay Dirtsman was murdered in 1993. In the three years that followed, his sister was killed in a motorcycle accident, his cousin was killed by police, and he himself had legal problems after being arrested on weapons charges. He turned to Christianity in 1997.This is also reflected in his style, as he started off as a true dancehall deejay, later adopting traits of Gospel and Christian music. Lady Saw, the Jamaican dancehall artist known for her bold and provocative lyrics, experienced a spiritual transformation and became a minister in 2015. Since then, she has changed her stage name to Minister Marion Hall and has focused on creating gospel music that reflects her newfound Christian faith. Pop superstar Justin Beiber has been open about his Christian faith in recent years, discussing how it has helped him navigate fame and personal challenges. Bieber's album "Justice" features several songs with spiritual themes, reflecting his ongoing faith journey. Cleveland Laing, better known asLieutenant Stitchie,is a Jamaican deejay who originally worked in the dancehall style but switched to gospel reggae in 1997 after surviving a car crash, thereafter working under the shorter name Stitchie. Influential rapper Kanye West has always spoken about God in his music but delved deeper in to the topic in 2019 when he released a gospel-inspired album titled "Jesus is King", showcasing his Christian faith. West has since held Sunday Service events featuring gospel music and prayer. These artists demonstrate that spiritual transformations can occur at any stage of a person's career and can have a profound impact on their lives and creative output. Written by Cassandra Maria
