To help you reflect during this season, heres a curated list of Easter anthems for your listening pleasure.
Just for Me Donnie McClurkin
Recorded as part of his platinum Live in London album, Just for me is a sober reflection of the true meaning of the cross. Sharing the origin of the song with Gospelflava , McClurkin said: "I was in a taxi in New York, running late and racing to get to rehearsal. That song ['Just For Me'] just leapt into my mind. I began thinking about just what does the cross really mean? For me, the cross represents the love Christ had when He died to set me free from sin. It's a whole lot more than an ornament around your neck.
The Anthem Todd Dulaney
Written and originally recorded by Aussie band Planetshakers, Dulaneys rendition officially introduced him to the world. In an interview for the Donnie McClurkin Radio Show, Dulaney shared that like many of us he had only heard the chorus of the ''Anthem.'' Wow the song has a verse? Once I heard that, I said I want to represent this to the African American culture because weve just been singing the chorus, he said. The combination of the songs powerful lyrics coupled with Dulaneys smooth warm vocals and anointing has helped him garner over 8.7million Spotify streams.
Matthew 28 Donald Lawrence
There is absolutely no way we can exclude Donald Lawrences iconic Matthew 28 from our playlist. The song tells the whole Easter story in less than 7 minutes.

Easter is the most important season in the Christian calendar and its a time when many of us reflect on the price Christ paid for our redemption. The death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the foundation of our Christian faith. If not for his agonising death on the cross, there would be no salvation.
